Metamorphic Journey explores personal transformation through the lens of my university experience, drawing parallels between emotional growth and the natural process of metamorphosis. The collection traces a journey from uncertainty and confinement to self-awareness and liberation.
The early stages of the collection reflect cocooned state-garments that feel restrained, layered, and protected. As the collection evolves, silhouettes begin to unravel and open, symbolising moments of transition, doubt, and movement. Trains and stations serve as recurring metaphors, representing pauses, departures, and the in-between spaces that shape growth.
Sustainability plays a central role through deconstruction, fabric reuse, and rust dyeing techniques. Left- over materials, visible stitching, and raw edges become markers of memory rather than imperfections. The final looks embody release fluid forms that express confidence, freedom, and an emerging design identity.
